Jermell DeAvante Charlo (born May 19, 1990) is an American professional boxer from Lafayette, Louisiana. Per Wikipedia, he held the undisputed championship at light middleweight from 2022 to 2023 and The Ring light middleweight title from 2020 to 2024. His identical twin brother, Jermall Charlo, is also a professional boxer and a world champion.
Charlo — nicknamed "Iron Man" — turned professional at 17 in December 2007. He won the vacant WBC light middleweight title against John Jackson in May 2016, lost it to Tony Harrison in December 2018, and won it straight back in the rematch a year later. He added the WBA (Super), IBF and Ring titles by stopping Jeison Rosario in September 2020, drew with WBO champion Brian Castaño in July 2021, then beat Castaño in the May 2022 rematch to become undisputed champion. In September 2023 he moved up two divisions to challenge Canelo Álvarez for the undisputed super middleweight title and lost on points.
